The Republican National Committee and Republican Party of Arizona sounded the alarm on Tuesday night as Arizona primary races commenced.
In a joint statement, RNC Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel and Republican Party of Arizona Chairwoman Kelli Ward revealed that their poll observer program discovered more than 60,000 discrepancies pertaining to mail-in ballots and the quantity of in-person ballots.
Their statement claims that, in Pinal County, 63,000 mail-in ballots were “delivered to the wrong voters” and that “multiple Republican-heavy precinct locations” ran out of ballots.
“This is a comprehensive failure that disenfranchises Arizonans and exemplifies why Republican-led efforts for transparency at the ballot box are so important,” McDaniel and Ward wrote.
Calling for accountability, they demanded that Pinal County Elections Director David Frisk “resign immediately.”
The statement comes amid reports of GOP precincts running out of in-person ballots and other various discrepancies.
“If you are at a polling location that does not have immediately available ballots, consider asking to vote on a express voting machine,” Kari Lake, the Trump-endorsed Arizona gubernatorial candidate, tweeted in response to the reports.
Ward also assured voters that “attorneys are working to determine how to make these disenfranchised voters whole and assure that they are able to vote.”
Tyler Bowyer, Turning Point Action’s chief operating officer, shared a message from a poll worker in Maricopa County regarding issues with markers used on ballots, reminiscent of similar problems during the 2020 presidential election.
