Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders, R-Ark., took a swing at leftist Gov. Gavin Newsom, D-Calif., in response to a tweet fired off from the California politician’s account following her State of the Union rebuttal on Tuesday night.
“While @SarahHuckabee touts public safety, here is what she skips over: Arkansas has one of the highest murder rates in the nation,” Newsom wrote.
Huckabee responded swiftly to Newsom’s Twitter insult, writing, “No one wants Gavin Newsom’s California, all those fleeing his failed state are welcome in Arkansas – the best place to live, work and raise a family!”
Between July 2020 to July 2021, California lost around 300,000 residents, with many citizens finding greener and freer pastures in places like Florida and Texas, according to a report from KTLA5.
Newsom’s tyrannical policies surrounding the Covid pandemic, coupled with the astronomical price of living in the Golden State, have driven many hardworking Americans to other states with more conservative leadership.
Gov. Sanders took office just a few weeks ago after winning her Arkansas gubernatorial election in a landslide. As reported by RSBN, one of her first moves after taking the oath of office was to sign an Executive Order to Prohibit Indoctrination and Critical Race Theory in Schools in January.
On Tuesday night, Sanders had the honor of delivering the Republican rebuttal to Joe Biden’s State of the Union address. “The dividing line in America is no longer between right or left,” she said. “The choice is between normal or crazy. It is time for a new generation of Republican leadership.”
According to The Guardian, Newsom paid for billboards and advertisements in 2022 in states like Texas, Florida, and Mississippi, even challenging Gov. Ron DeSantis, R-Fla., to a debate. Newsom’s attempt to raise his national profile has spurred speculation that he may launch a potential 2024 presidential bid.
