The FBI arrived at the home of former Vice President Mike Pence on Friday, where they began searching for classified documents, multiple sources are reporting.

According to a report from the Daily Wire, the search comes after Pence told his team to search his Indiana home and office for classified documents shortly following the discovery of classified material at the home of Joe Biden.

Via RSBN, Pence discovered last month that he was in possession of potentially classified material obtained during his time as vice president. His attorney, Greg Jacob, told the National Archives that after locating the allegedly classified material, they were placed in a locked safe.

Upon hearing the news, President Donald Trump swiftly responded to the possibility that Mike Pence was knowingly keeping classified documents in his home or office. He wrote on Truth Social, “Mike Pence is an innocent man. He never did anything knowingly dishonest in his life. Leave him alone!!!”

The FBI’s search of Pence’s home comes just as news broke this week that the Justice Department’s special counsel leading the investigation into President Trump had issued a subpoena to the former vice president.

According to a report from The Hill, special counsel Jack Smith issued the subpoena, which is asking for Pence’s testimony about his conversations with President Trump about the 2020 presidential election and the events of Jan. 6, 2021.

Trump has openly critiqued Jack Smith’s appointment as special counsel in the investigation, calling him “totally compromised” and a “political hit man.”

Trump has also highlighted the duplicity of the justice system’s treatment of himself versus Biden in the handling of classified material.

“At the very same moment when my ultra-secure Mar-a-Lago was raided by the FBI, Joe Biden was harboring classified documents in his China-funded Penn Center and his unsecured garage – right on the floor, piles of paper, the floor was probably very wet and damp, as many garages are,” Trump pointed out in a video in January.
