The driver of a van has been detained by the Secret Service after it crashed through a White House barricade early Wednesday morning.
According to the New York Post, the Washington, D.C., Metropolitan Police Department confirmed it was called to assist the Secret Service at 6:37 a.m. A van drove through the barricade at Connecticut Avenue and H Street Northwest and crashed into the northwest corner of Lafayette Park, just north of the executive mansion.
President Donald Trump was at the White House during the incident, and the suspect was detained for questioning.
No one was injured in the crash, but the Daily Mail reported that the White House was locked down due to the security breach.
This comes 12 days into the War in Iran, and domestic threats are growing more uncertain. Just last week, an Iranian operative was convicted of a plot to assassinate the 47th President, per RSBN. Earlier this month, a pro-Iranian gunman killed three people and wounded 14 outside of a bar in Austin, Texas, according to Fox News.
The White House barricade breach is a currently developing story.
