X and SpaceX owner Elon Musk spoke ahead of President Donald Trump during a Madison Square Garden rally on Sunday, stating that he believes he can save America “$2 trillion” in government spending.
Musk spoke ahead of a surprise appearance by First Lady Melania Trump and her husband before a capacity crowd of 20,000 people in Manhattan.
“How much do you think we can rip out of this wasted $6.5 trillion Harris-Biden budget?” Musk was asked on stage.
“Well, I think we can do at least $2 trillion,” Musk said. “I mean, at the end of the day, you’re being taxed. You’re being taxed. All government spending is taxation. So whether it’s direct taxation or — all government spending, either it becomes inflation or it’s direct taxation — your money is being wasted, and the Department of Government Efficiency is going to fix that.”
“We’re going to get the government off your back and out of your pocketbook,” he said.
He continued, “America is not just going to be great. America is going to reach heights that it has never seen before. The future is going to be amazing.”
Musk traveled across Pennsylvania over the previous week to speak at key locations in the swing state in support of Trump.
The Tesla owner also launched a political action committee on Saturday to support Trump’s campaign for president, RSBN reported earlier this month.
The America PAC was announced on the same day that Musk spoke at Trump’s Butler rally before an estimated 100,000 people and millions of online views.
“This is the PAC that I created to support candidates who believe in the core values of America,” Musk posted to X.
The PAC, featured on X at the username @America, stated, “Americans care about issues that impact their daily lives,” listing secure borders, sensible spending, safe cities, a fair justice system, free speech and self-protection.
“America PAC was created to support these key values & leaders who fight for them,” it added.
Musk’s full speech at Madison Square Garden was aired live by RSBN and can be watched along with the full event here.
