President Donald Trump’s campaign announced that former Green Bay Packers legend Brett Favre will appear as a special speaker at his rally on Wednesday in Wisconsin.

Favre started as Green Bay’s quarterback from 1992 to 2007, leading the NFL team to two Super Bowls and receiving three MVP awards.

“My Vote is for what makes this country great, freedom of speech and religion, the second amendment, hard-working tax-paying citizens, police and military,” Favre wrote in his past endorsement of Trump on X.

“In this election, we have freedom of choice, which all should respect. For me and these principles, my vote is for [Trump],” he added.

The former NFL great also spoke out in support of Trump last year during a podcast with Jason Whitlock.

“I think our country was in better shape with him,” Favre said. “I think Donald was a non-political president, and I liked that about him. Was he perfect? Absolutely not. Am I perfect? Absolutely not. I’m flawed just like the rest of ’em. We’re all flawed. But I really felt like he had our country in a better place and really cared about our people in our country.

“Black, White, Hispanic, Asian — you name it. I think if you were an American citizen, he cared about you, first and foremost. I don’t know if our current president has the same mentality.”

Favre also endorsed Trump during the 2020 election campaign.

The announcement also comes shortly after Favre revealed that he has been diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease.

The longtime NFL star has also been the focus of attention on issues related to player safety. He is featured in a recent film investigating the impact of concussions among football players called “Concussed.”

“Football is the greatest sport of all time. I loved playing it and entertaining our fans – and now I love being a fan and watching it. However, the cost can be high. This story is not about shame or blame, it’s about safety and protection. Good things will come from this story,” Favre posted to X.

The Green Bay event with Trump will be held at the Resch Center in Green Bay on Wednesday at 6 p.m. local time.
