Rapper Nicki Minaj offered her gratitude towards President Donald Trump for standing up against the persecution of Christians in Nigeria.

In a post to X, the musician shared the president’s previous post to Truth Social, where he announced that he would direct the U.S. House to investigate the atrocities.

“Reading this made me feel a deep sense of gratitude. We live in a country where we can freely worship God,” the singer wrote Saturday in a message attached to the president’s post.

“No group should ever be persecuted for practicing their religion,” she added. “We don’t have to share the same beliefs in order for us to respect each other.”

She continued, “Numerous countries all around the world are being affected by this horror & it’s dangerous to pretend we don’t notice. Thank you to The President & his team for taking this seriously. God bless every persecuted Christian. Let’s remember to lift them up in prayer.”

Although the media is seldom in reporting about the violence, entire Christian villages have been burned, worshippers murdered at Sunday services, and thousands displaced while radical Islamist terrorists have swept Nigeria, according to Fox News.

Mark Walker, ambassador-designate for International Religious Freedom, told the network that between 4,000 to 8,000 Christians have been killed annually by jihadist terrorists, and that the Nigerian government must take action.

Nigeria claims it has taken efforts to end the violence. However, they have seemingly rejected reports of genocide taking place against Christians, Newsweek reported.

Under the first Trump administration, the U.S. placed Nigeria under a religious freedom watchlist, though Joe Biden lifted this after taking office.

President Trump announced Friday that he will be designating Nigeria as a “country of particular concern” for religious freedom violations, allowing the U.S. to issue sanctions, including restricting humanitarian aid, against the country.

He also directed Rep. Riley Moore, R-W.Va., and Rep. Tom Cole, R-Okla., along with members of the House Appropriations Committee, to investigate the genocide and report their discoveries.

“When Christians, or any such group, is slaughtered like is happening in Nigeria (3,100 versus 4,476 Worldwide), something must be done!” he wrote to Truth Social.

“The United States cannot stand by while such atrocities are happening in Nigeria, and numerous other Countries. We stand ready, willing, and able to save our Great Christian population around the World!” he added.

In a follow-up post Saturday, the president further wrote that if the Nigerian government continued to allow for the killing of Christians, the U.S. would immediately stop aid and assistance to the country, and possibly go in “guns-a-blazing” to wipe out the Islamic terrorists who are committing the crimes.

“I am hereby instructing our Department of War to prepare for possible action. If we attack, it will be fast, vicious, and sweet, just like the terrorist thugs attack our CHERISHED Christians! WARNING: THE NIGERIAN GOVERNMENT BETTER MOVE FAST!” he wrote.
