Support for President Donald Trump grows as he received the endorsement of more than 200 retired Department of Homeland Security (DHS) officials in an open letter that slams Kamala Harris.
The Post Millennial reported that 200 retired officials from the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) endorsed Trump in an open letter addressed to Americans.
In the letter, they highlighted that when it comes to border security, Trump is the best choice compared to Kamala Harris. The letter, which was signed by officials like former Director of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Tom Homan and former Director of Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Rodney Scott.
In the open letter, they wrote, “The Biden/Harris administration enacted policies that systematically dismantled a proven 27-year bi-partisan border security strategy that prevented crime, both at the border and in towns across America.” They also added, “The appalling results were immediate and will have lasting consequences.”
The letter outlined that because of the lack of security and proper policies under the Biden-Harris administration at the borders, CBP had to bring in law enforcement personnel from other departments to cope with over a staggering 10 million illegal immigrants entering the country.
The 200 retired DHS officials strongly believe that the national security of a country is the most important factor when choosing a president.
They wrote, “Of the countless issues to consider, every one of them is dependent upon our national security. National security has many facets, but it does not exist without enforceable international borders.”
They added, “The Trump administration supported policies and programs that reduced illegal immigration and instilled integrity into our legal immigration system.”
While endorsing Trump, the group slammed Harris, saying, “Under VP Harris’ watch, idealist political appointees with zero border security experience were empowered to implement disastrous and deadly border security policy for the United States.”
The group ended their open letter by telling Americans, “Assuming you care about border security as much as we do, the choice is clear. President Trump is the only candidate that we can trust to secure our nation’s borders.”
