President Donald Trump announced that his Interior Department is planning to “fix” the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool.

In a post to Truth Social, the president blamed the Biden administration for letting the monument devolve into its present state, showing a video of the dilapidated landmark filled with sludge, algae and dirt.

Under the direction of U.S. Interior Department Secretary Doug Burgum, who is responsible for maintaining national monuments and parks, the Trump administration will restore the pool to a cleaner state.

“This is the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool before Secretary of the Interior Doug Burgum and I fix it,” he wrote. “Study it hard because you won’t be seeing this Biden filth and incompetence much longer!”

The restoration of the Lincoln Memorial Reflection Pool is one of several efforts by the Trump administration to renovate and improve Washington, D.C.’s landmarks.

President Trump previously announced plans to construct a new monument between Arlington Memorial Bridge and the Lincoln Memorial—an arch centered in the Memorial Circle roundabout to commemorate the nation’s 250th anniversary in 2026.

The president further broke ground on a new White House ballroom, marking one of the building’s most considerable structural additions in decades.
