Americans are speaking out against President Donald Trump’s hush money case since he is legally unable to comment.

Rep. Byron Donalds, R-Fla., posted to X on Wednesday, stating, “I am not under a gag order, so I can speak out.”

He went on ABC News and argued that he and other political leaders have a responsibility to stand against the political misuse of the justice system.

Donalds claimed that Juan Merchan’s daughter is a “Democrat Operative” who “is gonna make millions of dollars this election cycle fundraising for Democrats, and she’s using the images and the likenesses of this trial to help her fundraise.”

In another post, he noted that while President Trump is under a gag order, “the media & the other witnesses in the case have been able to speak-out day & night against him without legitimate rebuttal.”

ACT for America Founder and Chairman Brigitte Gabriel posted, “President Trump’s gag order is 100% unconstitutional.”

This comes just after conservatives blasted White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre after she admitted that the trial is “related to 2024 elections.”

This has reinforced concerns about the motives behind the case.

CEO of X Strategies Alex Bruesewitz wrote, “KJP admits that the Bragg case is 100% a politically motivated witch hunt.”
