Trump attends ribbon-cutting for new golf course in Scotland before jetting back to U.S. to ‘put out fires’

President Donald Trump mixed some fun into his trip to Scotland this week, attending the ribbon-cutting for a brand-new golf course at his property, Trump International Golf Links, near Aberdeen.

Joined by sons Donald Trump Jr. and Eric Trump, the president arrived while bagpipes played, and winds blew lightly across the new, green grass.

“My son Eric has worked so hard on this, and it’s been truly a labor of love for him,” the president said. “We started with a beautiful piece of land, but we made it much more beautiful.”

The president’s trip to Scotland has been busy. While there, he sealed a historic trade deal with the European Union. He also worked to broker a ceasefire in the conflict between Cambodia and Thailand amid the nations’ border dispute. With Trump leading the way, both countries announced an “immediate and unconditional ceasefire” on Monday, RSBN previously reported.

At the ribbon-cutting ceremony, President Trump indicated that he would play a little golf on Tuesday before heading back to the United States.

“I look forward to playing it today, we’ll play it very quickly, and then I go back to D.C., and we put out fires all over the world,” he remarked. “We did one yesterday, as you know, we stopped a war, but we’ve stopped about five wars. That’s much more important than playing golf. As much as I like it, it’s much more important.”

President Trump has indeed been involved in working to resolve conflicts not only between Cambodia and Thailand, but also between India and Pakistan, Israel and Iran, the Republic of the Congo and Rwanda, and Egypt and Ethiopia this year.

Trump concluded his remarks with a burst of optimism.

“It’s going to be a special day, it’s going to be a special year, and it’s going to be a special decade, and we’re going to make all of our countries strong and great and really wonderful again,” he said.
