The Trump campaign went after Democrat New York Attorney General Letitia James on Monday morning as the 45th president headed to court in New York City to face an ongoing civil case that has targeted his business dealings.

Trump Senior Advisor Jason Miller made a statement at the courthouse, explaining, “Letitia James campaigned on getting Trump. That’s what this is about: election interference. Letitia James, Alvin Brag, Fani Willis, Merrick Garland, and Joe Biden. This is designed to do NOTHING ELSE but stop President Trump as he’s leading by ten points in the general election.”

He added, “…This is all about 2024. Do not get it confused.”

The Trump campaign additionally reshared an April breakdown of AG James’ career in New York, calling her a “Soros-funded Democrat attorney general” and reiterating evidence that James heavily campaigned on “getting Trump.”

The president’s rare appearance in court on Monday came after a busy weekend of campaigning in California and Iowa.

At the courthouse, he spoke briefly with the press and explained his position on the civil case, which has already yielded a ruling from Judge Arthur Engoron against Trump and the Trump Organization.

Trump stated, “It’s a scam, it’s a sham. Just so you know, my financial statements…the actual net worth is actually more.”

He also said, “There was no crime. The crime was against me because we have a corrupt district attorney, but we have a corrupt attorney general.”

Trump general counsel and legal spokesperson Alina Habba further gave powerful remarks to the press, via video from Fox News and the Trump campaign.

She explained, “At the end of the day, we have a judge that has told us that Mar-a-Lago is worth $18 million. He has failed to acknowledge what the appellate division has said, and we will continue to fight in hopes that there is some level of law and order in this country at this point.”

She concluded, “Although my faith in the system is wary, I do have faith in Donald Trump.”
