The Trump campaign responded to comments from a top surrogate for Vice President Kamala Harris who argued on Thursday that President Donald Trump does not surround himself with strong, intelligent women.
Billionaire Mark Cuban’s comments have not yet been disavowed by Harris, leading to strong pushback from Trump’s campaign and other conservative leaders.
“Joe Biden called Trump supporters garbage, and now, Kamala’s top surrogate Mark Cuban insinuated female Trump supporters are ‘weak and dumb.’ This is extremely insulting to the thousands of women who work for President Trump, and the tens of millions of women who are voting for him,” said Karoline Leavitt, Trump campaign National Press Secretary.
“These women are mothers, entrepreneurs, and industry leaders and they are, indeed, strong AND intelligent, despite what Mark Cuban and Kamala Harris say. The joy at Kamala HQ has been replaced by division, vitriol, and a disturbing level of disrespect for the millions of Americans who are supporting President Trump after four years of destruction under Kamala Harris,” she continued.
Leavitt noted that intelligent American women support Trump over his views on the border, the economy and other key issues ahead of Election Day.
“Women want a President who will secure our border, remove violent criminals from our neighborhoods, and put more money in our pockets — and that’s exactly why we are supporting President Trump. Kamala Harris must immediately condemn Mark Cuban’s disrespectful insult to women,” Leavitt concluded.
Trump campaign co-manager Susie Wiles also reacted to Cuban’s word in a post on X.
“I’m told @mcuban needs help identifying the strong and intelligent women surrounding Pres. Trump. Well, here we are! I’ve been proud to lead this campaign. Complimented by @Linda_McMahon, Chair for Transition Policy and @LaraLeaTrump, RNC Co-Chair,” she wrote.
Arkansas Republican Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders, who previously served as Trump’s press secretary, also released a video responding to Cuban’s remarks.
“I worked for President Trump for two-and-a-half years. Democrats tried to tear me down; President Trump tried to empower me and every other woman in America,” she said.
Republican National Committee co-chair Lara Trump added, “Just when you think the Kamala camp can’t possibly alienate and divide people any more than they already have…now they attack women who support Trump. Nice job, Mark.”
