President Donald Trump celebrated NVIDIA’s $500 billion U.S. investment on social media Tuesday, vowing to expedite permits to advance the effort.
The president shared the update on his Truth Social profile following a White House announcement on Monday.
“NVIDIA COMMITS 500 BILLION DOLLARS TO BUILD A.I. SUPERCOMPUTERS, PLUS, IN THE UNITED STATES, EXCLUSIVELY. This is very big and exciting news,” Trump posted.
“All necessary permits will be expedited and quickly delivered to NVIDIA, as they will to all companies committing to be part of the Golden Age of America!” he added.
NVIDIA announced the plans in a Monday press release, revealing plans to build its computer chips in Arizona and its supercomputers in Texas.
“NVIDIA is working with its manufacturing partners to design and build factories that, for the first time, will produce NVIDIA AI supercomputers entirely in the U.S.,” the company’s statement said.
“Together with leading manufacturing partners, the company has commissioned more than a million square feet of manufacturing space to build and test NVIDIA Blackwell chips in Arizona and AI supercomputers in Texas,” it continued.
A White House statement on Monday called the move part of the Trump effect in action.
“President Donald J. Trump has made U.S.-based chips manufacturing a priority as part of his relentless pursuit of an American manufacturing renaissance, and it’s paying off — with trillions of dollars in new investments secured in the tech sector alone,” the White House article read.
“Earlier this year, President Trump announced a $500 billion private investment in AI infrastructure led by OpenAI, Oracle, and Softbank, while Apple announced a $500 billion investment and TSMC announced a $100 billion investment in chips manufacturing,” the article stated.
Nvidia, one of the world’s most valuable companies, marks another financial win for the Trump administration as it seeks to promote American investment. The move follows a major announcement in February when Apple said it will invest $500 billion in the U.S. over the next four years, adding 20,000 American jobs and building a factory in Texas by 2026.
The well-known iPhone and computer maker will work with Hon Hai Precision Industry’s Foxconn to build a 250,000-square-foot facility in the Houston area to assemble servers to power Apple’s AI efforts.
“APPLE HAS JUST ANNOUNCED A RECORD 500 BILLION DOLLAR INVESTMENT IN THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA. THE REASON, FAITH IN WHAT WE ARE DOING, WITHOUT WHICH, THEY WOULDN’T BE INVESTING TEN CENTS. THANK YOU TIM COOK AND APPLE!!!” Trump posted to Truth Social.
