President Donald Trump told Fox News’ Bret Baier why he approaches his relationship with the press so intensely. “I would like to be less combative, but I find the press is extremely dishonest, and if I’m not combative, I don’t get my word across. If I’m not combative – I don’t think you could win,” he said.
He added that if someone got into office without a combative streak, “These radical left maniacs would come after them at a level you’ve never seen before and they’re not going to be able to withstand that.”
“It’s sick,” he emphasized.
Trump’s appearance on Fox News aired just one week after his arraignment in Miami on 37 charges related to the “classified documents” investigation that has been spearheaded by Special Counsel Jack Smith.
Trump has previously highlighted his observation that the political and legal persecution aimed at him is his enemy’s defensive attacks in light of his success with American voters.
“We’re winning BIG, they don’t like it, the RINOS don’t like it, the Democrats don’t like it but, most of all, the Marxists & Communists don’t like it!” he wrote this week on Truth Social.
A new Rasmussen poll found that in a general election poll, Trump was leading Joe Biden at 45 percent to 39 percent. In GOP primary polling, Trump is also the dominant candidate for the 2024 Republican Party primary nomination.
Trump told Baier that he won his election in 2020 “by a lot” and slammed the recount processes in several battleground states. “They were counting ballots, not the authenticity of the ballot. The ballots were fake ballots,” he pointed out.
Interestingly, a “bombshell” report from TIPP Insights revealed on Tuesday that they had obtained audio and video of Joe Biden in 2022 promising to utilize governmental power to ensure President Trump did not take power again.
Biden told the press, “We just have to demonstrate that he will not take power if he does run, making sure he — under legitimate efforts of our Constitution — does not become the next president again.”
