President Donald Trump continued to broaden his lead in the newest Morning Consult poll tracking the GOP 2024 presidential primary race.
According to their data, which was updated on March 21, President Donald Trump holds an enormous 54 percent of support among GOP voters for the Republican nomination.
His potential political rival in the 2024 presidential race, Governor Ron DeSantis, R-Fla., won 26 percent of support in the same poll.
Former Vice President Mike Pence, who has not announced a presidential candidacy, came in with 7 percent of support, while declared GOP presidential contender and former South Carolina governor Nikki Haley came in with 4 percent of support.
GOP candidate and businessman Vivek Ramaswamy scored 1 percent of support.
The spread between Trump and DeSantis is his strongest yet in the Morning Consult poll, demonstrating a whopping 28-point gap between the two men. In January, Trump let DeSantis by 11 points. In February, Trump led by 18 points. Between March 14 and March 19, Trump gained another four points, jumping from a 24-point lead to a 28-point lead.
As reported by RSBN, Trump’s favorable numbers have been reflected all across the board heading into a heated 2024 presidential primary season, with Premise Data recently reflecting Trump’s 52 percent lead for a 2024 National Republican Primary against DeSantis’s 26 percent.
CWS Research also found last week that President Trump garnered a huge 27-point net swing in his direction in the great state of Texas, commanding the primary field with 43 percent of support to 27 percent of voters who preferred DeSantis.
Interestingly, an Emerson College survey conducted between March 13-15 found that in Florida, where Gov. DeSantis won his reelection by a 20-point landslide, President Trump had a 3-point lead among Florida GOP voters, with Trump at 47 percent of support to DeSantis’s 44 percent in the Sunshine State.
