President Donald Trump’s legal team scored a major victory on Thursday in their ongoing legal battle with the DOJ in the wake of the FBI’s raid on Trump’s private property.

According to a report from Axios, District Court Judge Aileen Cannon struck down an appeal from the Justice Department to “exclude classified documents from the special master review.”

Further, Cannon appointed a special master to review classified documents seized at Trump’s home during the raid. The appointed special master is former federal judge Raymond Dearie. He will review all documents taken from Trump’s home – including the “classified material” that the DOJ was desperate to get their hands on as part of an attempted ongoing criminal investigation against the 45th president.

Tom Fitton, the president of Judicial Watch, reacted to the news on Twitter. “Major court ruling for Trump on special master,” he wrote. “Court appoints special master suggested by Trump, notes Biden gang leaks and makes it clear that she doesn’t trust a word the Biden-Garland operation has alleged about its raid of Trump’s home.”

Further, the ruling itself stated:

“The Court thus continues to endeavor to serve the public interest, the principles of civil and criminal procedure, and the principles of equity. And the Court remains firmly of the view that appointment of a special master to conduct a review of the seized materials, accompanied by a temporary injunction to avoid unwarranted use and disclosure of potentially privileged and/or personal materials, is fully consonant with the foregoing principles and with the need to ensure at least the appearance of fairness and integrity under unprecedented circumstances.”

Axios’s report additionally noted that the special master, former federal judge Raymond Dearie, was appointed by President Ronald Reagan, and he will have until Nov. 30 to complete a review of the seized materials.
