President Donald Trump arrived in Washington D.C. on Monday in a surprising and unannounced visit, a video posted online showed. Social media lit up with conversation shortly after the video surfaced, which showed a blurry image of the 45th president departing a private jet and getting into a black SUV.
The president was dressed in a brown jacket and wearing white shoes, leading some to speculate as to whether he was wearing golf shoes to nail down whether Trumpâs trip was motivated by business or pleasure.
Trumpâs surprise visit to D.C. also prompted many to wonder why he was traveling to the nationâs capital, especially amid his intensified battles with the DOJ following the FBIâs shocking August raid on his private home in Mar-a-Lago.
According to a report from Human Events, Trumpâs arrival in D.C. was captured by a journalist named Andrew Leyton at the Dulles International Airport. It marks only the second time the president has returned to Washington since he left office in 2021.
However, after hours of social media rumors and speculation, President Trump addressed his trip to D.C. in a post shared on Monday to Truth Social:
âWorking today @TrumpWashingtonDC on the Potomac River,â he wrote. âWhat an incredible place!â
He additionally included a link to the Trump National Golf Club in Washington D.C., which is described as a âfamily oriented private club offering members two world-class golf courses, a state-of-the-art Tennis Center and more.â
Further, Politico reporter and journalist Meridith McGraw retweeted a photo from the Associated Pressâs Alex Brandon, who snapped a picture of President Trump driving a golf cart at his golf course in Sterling, Virginia. The photo was also posted by Gary Grumbach, who works for NBC.
Interestingly, President Trumpâs son-in-law, Jared Kushner, addressed the America First Policy Instituteâs Abraham Accords event in D.C. on Monday afternoon.
