President Donald Trump poked fun at his detractors in a statement posted to Truth Social on Thursday night, offering an antidote for “Trump Derangement Syndrome.”
He wrote, “Just to make every one of those people suffering from Trump Derangement Syndrome feel better, it doesn’t really matter that the jury foreperson went on a Media rampage, thereby badly tainting the case and making it impossible to bring, because I did absolutely NOTHING WRONG!”
Trump’s comments directly addressed the recent media blitz surrounding Emily Kohrs, the grand jury foreperson in the ongoing probe against the 45th president in the state of Georgia.
As reported by RSBN, the criminal investigation into President Trump, which hinges on a phone call that he made to Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger in 2020, has been spearheaded by Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis.
“Two perfect phone calls on Election Integrity, that’s it!” Trump continued. “The D.A. should go after the murderers and other violent criminals in Atlanta, one of the most dangerous cities in the World, and leave honest people alone!”
Kohrs appeared on television in the last week and discussed the case publicly, exhibiting what some have called bizarre and even eccentric behavior on the air. In an interview with MSNBC, she discussed how “awesome” it would have been to subpoena President Trump.
Kohrs has also discussed the names of witnesses who have testified in the case.
In fact, Kohrs’ decision to appear on television has brought into question the validity of the investigation itself, following her public discussion of the probe’s details on TV.
Ironically, MSNBC columnist Barbara McQuade wrote on Thursday, “…as a former prosecutor, I am mortified that a grand juror is talking about it [the case] publicly.”
She continued:
“Even more alarming were some of the things Kohrs said about her own experience. She said she swore in one witness while holding a Ninja Turtle ice pop she had received at the district attorney’s office ice cream party. A what?! Why on Earth would grand jurors be socializing with the prosecutors? A grand jury is an independent body, and prosecutors are trained to maintain a professional distance and avoid engaging in interactions that could be perceived as influencing their decisions.”
Per Newsweek, the grand jury itself does not have the authority to issue indictments – only the D.A. can do that. However, following the release of several sections of the jury’s special investigative report, Trump previously claimed ‘Total exoneration.”
Per the president, the sections that were released didn’t mention President Trump.
