President Donald Trump is prepared to hold China “and the corrupt forces who have facilitated this colossal suppression of facts” accountable after the United States Department of Energy acknowledged that the Covid-19 virus most likely originated from a lab leak in China.

“Three years ago, I declared that COVID-19 almost certainly came from the Chinese Wuhan lab. Now, the world is finally admitting the truth,” President Trump wrote in an op-ed for the Daily Mail. “The cover-up of COVID-19’s origins is one of the greatest scandals in the history of the world. Millions of people all over the planet have died from the China Virus.”

According to the president, experts calculate that the combined cost of the virus outbreak and efforts to mislead the public on its origin amounts to an excess of $50 trillion.

“Now it’s time to hold China—and the corrupt forces who have facilitated this colossal suppression of facts—accountable for the damage they have inflicted upon all of humanity,” President Trump continued.

The op-ed follows a recent report by the United States Department of Energy, which reaffirmed Trump’s initial belief that the virus originated from a laboratory leak in China, RSBN reported. However, there is still speculation on whether the leak of the virus was simply a human error or if it was intentional.

Journalist and host of “The Absolute Truth,” Emerald Robinson, tweeted last month that the debate about the origins of the virus could likely be a distraction from an allegedly “planned operation to undermine the Trump Administration.”

“America’s intelligence agencies want you permanently stuck in the Wuhan ‘lab leak vs. wet market debate because it excludes the most likely possibility: COVID was a planned operation to undermine the Trump Administration,” Robinson wrote on Twitter. “It didn’t ‘leak.’ It was released.”

Nonetheless, President Trump was heavily ridiculed for suggesting that the virus could have resulted from a lab, with the “entire globalist establishment” working “relentlessly to silence, censor, and shut down any suggestion that the so-called ‘lab leak theory’ could be true.”

“Scientists who called for transparency and investigation were attacked. Facebook and Twitter labeled posts related to the theory as ‘disinformation.’ The media mercilessly ridiculed the idea,” President Trump continued.

Aside from China, Trump also called for the World Health Organization to be held accountable, “which effectively did China’s bidding, fully endorsed the ‘natural origin’ theory, failed to conduct a thorough inquiry into the possibility that the virus came from a lab, and covered up for China at every turn.”

Trump added that the WHO’s opposition to his administration’s travel ban on China ultimately led him to cut ties with the organization. Trump added that the U.S. was paying the WHO $450 million a year for 300 million people. Whereas, China was paying $40 million for 1.4 billion people.

Trump continued that the WHO offered him “to come back in for what China pays” in hopes of repairing its relationship with the U.S.

“I said, ‘Some day I might take it, but you have to be admonished,” the president wrote.

President Trump also went after Joe Biden for re-entering the WHO “without getting any meaningful reforms” and “at full price.”

“When I take the oath of office as the 47th president of the United States, I will once again withdraw the United States from the WHO, to protect our health, and to defend our freedom and independence,” he added.
