President Donald Trump blasted the Democrats Sunday for their “politically motivated” FBI raid at Mar-a-Lago and said the attack has “backfired” on them.
While Democrats and the news media have attempted to use the FBI’s raid on the 45th president’s residence at Mar-a-Lago as a way to prevent him from running again in 2024, their efforts have unintentionally led to a stronger Republican movement ahead of the November midterms and stronger polling for Trump.
In a Sunday post on Truth Social, the 45th president said, “All polls STRONGLY indicate that I am the candidate that Democrats LEAST want to run against, by far, hence the politically motivated Raid on Mar-a- Lago – Which has backfired, big time!”
As Trump pointed out in a separate post, he has been the target of the Democrats’ vicious witch hunts ever since he announced his bid for president in 2016. Whether it has been the Russia collusion narrative, impeachment attempts, FBI raid at Mar-a-Lago, or any of the other attacks, Democrats have shown they will do whatever it takes to prevent Trump from serving the American people as president.
However, as Trump explained, the raid at Mar-a-Lago has “backfired.”
In the wake of the raid, Trump has received an overwhelming amount of support from conservatives across the nation. While Trump has said the FBI search could result in Republicans winning “additional seats” in the midterm elections, many Republicans are already considering how the raid could affect the 2024 presidential campaign.
A Republican strategist told Business Insider, “It makes him pretty much unbeatable in a primary. Basically, what the federal government has done, the FBI, the Biden administration, is they’ve made him into a martyr. It’s going to be really difficult to see a scenario in which he runs in and loses in a primary because of that.”
Trump once again reminded Americans of his past victories and foreshadowed a possible 2024 campaign. “I beat them twice, did much better the second time (many millions more votes than the first!), and may just have to do it again,” he said. He also warned, “Our Country is going to Hell!”
Despite the news media’s portrayal of Trump and the events at Mar-a-Lago, polls seem to support the 45th president’s belief that the FBI raid has backfired on Democrats.
Rep. Lauren Boebert, R-Colo., recently said, “GOP enthusiasm INCREASED 5 percent after the FBI’s fraudulent raid on President Trump.” She added, “I guess the DOJ forgot the old saying about poking the bear.”
