If anyone thought that the FBI raid on President Donald J. Trump’s home would deter voters from supporting him in another presidential bid, they were clearly mistaken.
On the contrary, according to the 45th president’s son, fundraising in the Trump camp has not only increased but skyrocketed in the wake of Monday night’s events.
“Breaking: DonaldJTrump.com is shattering all fundraising records and I’m told has raised more money in the past 24 hours than ever before in recent history!” Eric Trump tweeted Tuesday. “The American people are pissed!”
News of the search of the president’s Florida residence of Mar-a-Lago came as a shock to many Americans Monday night following his announcement of the “siege,” in which he declared, “These are dark times for our nation.”
In response, fellow Republicans and conservatives were quick to decry the actions of the Biden Justice Department as an abuse of power, with many noting the hypocrisy in the FBI’s treatment of Trump versus its treatment of Democrats like Hunter Biden.
“The raid of MAL is another escalation in the weaponization of federal agencies against the Regime’s political opponents, while people like Hunter Biden get treated with kid gloves,” Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis tweeted Monday night. “Now the Regime is getting another 87k IRS agents to wield against its adversaries? Banana Republic.”
On Tuesday, it was revealed that the judge who most likely signed off on the Mar-a-Lago raid was Judge Bruce Reinhart, a 2008 Barack Obama campaign donor and former attorney for employees of the convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
Notably, the FBI has yet to raid the homes of Epstein’s former clients.
“The FBI that raided Trump and his supporters is the same FBI that has Epstein’s client list of rich and powerful people that took part in trafficking and molesting underage kids,” the Hodge twins noted Wednesday. “But they’ll never release that list or conduct raids on those people.”
But while the Justice Department has yet to provide an explanation as to the “probable cause” for raiding Trump’s home, with the funds for another presidential campaign pouring in, the 45th president may at least take comfort in knowing that he is not without support.
