On Monday, President Donald Trump’s home was raided by the FBI, and many concerned Americans across the country are wondering why the details of the warrant have not been released yet. According to a report from Fox News, the bureau has not revealed any more information about the raid to the public, drawing the ire of conservative commentators and politicians in the U.S.
President Trump himself stated in a post shared to Truth Social that he was asked by the DOJ and the FBI in early June to “put an extra lock on the door leading to the place where boxes were stored in Mar-a-Lago – We agreed.”
He added, “They were shown the secured area, and the boxes themselves. Then on Monday, without notification or warning, an army of agents broke into Mar-a-Lago, went to the same storage area, and ripped open the lock that they had asked to be installed.”
Tom Fitton, the president of Judicial Watch, revealed on Thursday that a federal court had ordered U.S. Attorney General Merrick Garland’s DOJ to file “any response” to the Judicial Watch request to “unseal Trump raid warrant materials by Monday at 5 p.m.”
The FBI’s raid on President Trump’s home is something that has never happened before to a president. As Trump stated on Monday, many critics of the encroaching “weaponization of the Justice System” are accusing the agency of utilizing the raid as a political attack on the 45th president to deter him from running for the White House in 2024.
Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, R-Ga., remarked on Wednesday in response to the FBI’s reported refusal to hand over the search warrant for the raid at Mar-a-Lago, “This is the type of rogue tactics that happen in countries right before they call into tyrannical dictatorships. No one should tolerate this!”
Per Fox News, the DOJ has not yet addressed questions concerning the details of the warrant used on Monday at Mar-a-Lago.
This is a developing story.
