President Donald Trump reacted to rumors that he is set to be indicted over the DOJ’s ongoing investigation into the so-called classified documents that were seized during the FBI’s raid on Mar-a-Lago last year.
He wrote on Truth Social, “No one has told me I’m being indicted, and I shouldn’t be because I’ve done NOTHING wrong, but I have assumed for years that I am a Target of the WEAPONIZED DOJ & FBI, starting with the Russia, Russia, Russia HOAX, the “No Collusion” Mueller Report, Impeachment HOAX #1, Impeachment HOAX #2, the PERFECT Ukraine phone call, and various other SCAMS & WITCH HUNTS.”
According to Just the News, federal prosecutors reportedly had told Trump that he was going to be indicted soon, but the president has obviously denied this in his recent statement.
The federal probe into the documents from Mar-a-Lago has been spearheaded by Special Counsel Jack Smith. Smith was appointed by U.S. Attorney General Merrick Garland.
Trump has criticized Smith’s appointment in the past, calling him a “special persecutor” and a “Trump Hating SLIMEBALL.”
According to a lengthy statement from MAGA Inc., Smith has an alleged history of targeting conservatives. In their statement, MAGA highlighted Smith’s previous involvement in the Lois Lerner IRS scandal that zeroed in on conservative nonprofit organizations during the Obama administration.
Per their statement, Smith also:
- Reportedly targeted a Republican presidential candidate, Bob McDonnell, in 2010,
- Smith’s spouse reportedly donated $2,000 to Biden’s 2020 campaign and produced a documentary about Michelle Obama on Netflix.
Trump summed up the ongoing investigation into his handling of the documents extracted from his private residence as “election interference.”
As previously reported by RSBN, Rep. Jim Jordan, R-Ohio, the acting chairman of the House Judiciary Committee, has requested an unredacted memo from the DOJ regarding the “scope” of Smith’s investigation into Trump.
President Trump concluded on Truth Social that Smith’s probe was ultimately “A TRAVESTY OF JUSTICE & ELECTION INTERFERENCE AT A LEVEL NEVER SEEN BEFORE. REPUBLICANS IN CONGRESS MUST MAKE THIS THEIR # 1 ISSUE!!!”
