President Donald Trump took to Truth Social to respond to Special Counsel John Durham’s bombshell report outlining the Department of Justice’s failures in managing the Trump-Russia connection probe, claiming that “the American Public was scammed.”

“WOW! After extensive research, Special Counsel John Durham concludes the FBI never should have launched the Trump-Russia Probe!” President Trump wrote. “In other words, the American Public was scammed, just as it is being scammed right now by those who don’t want to see GREATNESS for AMERICA!”

As previously reported by RSBN, Special Counsel John Durham, who has been actively investigating the now-debunked claims that President Trump colluded with Russia in the 2016 presidential election, released a stunning report Monday detailing how the FBI and DOJ botched their investigation.

Durham’s more than 300-page report, obtained by Fox News, stated that the DOJ and the FBI “failed to uphold their mission of strict fidelity to the law” as “senior FBI personnel displayed a serious lack of analytical rigor towards the information that they received, especially information received from politically-affiliated persons and entities.”

Durham went on to say that the material “in part triggered and sustained” Crossfire Hurricane, the FBI’s investigation into Trump’s campaign. Additionally, there was “significant reliance on investigative leads provided or funded (directly or indirectly) by Trump’s political opponents.”

Beyond that, Durham’s report indicated that it “also considered as part of its investigation the government’s handling of certain intelligence that it received during the summer of 2016,” RSBN noted.

The report stated:

“That intelligence concerned purported ‘approval by Hillary Clinton on July 26, 2016 from one of her foreign policy advisors to vilify Donald Trump by stirring up a scandal claiming interference by Russian security services.”

According to The Hill, Rep. Jim Jordan, R-Ohio, chairman of the House Judiciary Committee, requested Durham to testify next week.
