Over the weekend, many Americans and voting Republicans were disappointed when the House of Representatives passed a foreign aid bill that will fork over tens of millions of more dollars overseas while continuing to ignore the crisis at the southern border of the United States.
Per RSBN, the majority of GOP voters oppose sending Ukraine more aid, and yet, Republicans continue to push legislation giving the European country more money and funding amidst their clash with Russia.
In the middle of this legislative conflict is Speaker Mike Johnson, R-La., who is currently under the threat of a motion to vacate, which was filed by Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, R-Ga.
Via Fox News, President Trump had a recent interview with radio host John Fredericks, where he weighed in on the sticky position Speaker Johnson has been thrust into amidst a fragile one-seat Republican majority in Congress.
He explained, “Well, look, we have a majority of one, OK? It’s not like he can go and do whatever he wants to do. I think he’s a very good person… I think he’s trying very hard. And again, we’ve got to have a big election.”
Trump called the situation “tough” and zeroed in on the importance of electing more people to Congress in 2024 and winning the presidency in November.
In another radio interview with Chris Stigall, President Trump reminded Americans, “Remember, the speakership we’re talking about has, you know, we’re a majority by one. One vote.”
He pointed out that “you can really too tough when [you have one vote] – Look, we all want to be tough guys and all, and I have a lot of friends, and frankly I have friends on both sides…but Mike is in there and he’s trying, and some people were disappointed, and a lot of people were very disappointed that nothing happened with the border.”
He vowed that as president, “I’ll straighten out the border.”
