President Donald Trump rejected a new offer from the Harris campaign for a second presidential debate on Tuesday, claiming the election is “too far down the line.”
Trump shared his response to the offer from Vice President Kamala Harris on Truth Social following the vice presidential debate between his running mate JD Vance and Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz.
“Lyin’ Kamala just put out a request for another Debate because they lost so badly tonight – Again, it’s like the fighter who lost, gets up and says, ‘I WANT A REMATCH,’” he wrote.
“I beat Biden, I then beat her, and I’m not looking to do it again, too far down the line. Votes are already cast – And I’m leading BIG in the Polls. I’ll MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN, she’s incapable of it!” he added.
Harris reportedly accepted a CNN invitation for a second debate. Trump declined the offer, arguing that has already done “two debates.” He debated against Harris on one occasion in September and held a town hall on Fox News after the vice president declined a debate on the network.
“60 Minutes” also invited both Trump and Harris for separate interviews for use in a television special. Both campaigns originally agreed, though Trump’s campaign later turned down the offer.
Trump publicly announced on Sept. 12 that he would not participate in another presidential debate with Harris.
“When a prizefighter loses a fight, the first words out of his mouth are, ‘I WANT A REMATCH.’ Polls clearly show that I won the Debate against Comrade Kamala Harris, the Democrats’ Radical Left Candidate, on Tuesday night, and she immediately called for a Second Debate,” Trump began.
“She and Crooked Joe have destroyed our Country, with millions of criminals and mentally deranged people pouring into the USA, totally unchecked and unvetted, and with Inflation bankrupting our Middle Class. Everyone knows this, and all of the other problems caused by Kamala and Joe – It was discussed in great detail during the First Debate with Joe, and the Second Debate with Comrade Harris,” Trump continued.
“She was a no-show at the Fox Debate, and refused to do NBC & CBS. KAMALA SHOULD FOCUS ON WHAT SHE SHOULD HAVE DONE DURING THE LAST ALMOST FOUR YEAR PERIOD. THERE WILL BE NO THIRD DEBATE!” he wrote in all caps.
Over 67 million viewers watched the only head-to-head debate between Trump and Harris.
