President Donald Trump appeared unconcerned by pop star Taylor Swift’s endorsement of Vice President Kamala Harris Tuesday night following the presidential debate.
During a phone interview with Fox News, Trump was asked what his thoughts were on Swift’s announcement.
The 45th president responded, “I actually like Mrs. Mahomes much better if you want to know the truth. She’s a big Trump fan.”
He continued, “I was not a Taylor Swift fan, it was just a question of time. She couldn’t possibly endorse Biden. You look at Biden, you couldn’t possibly endorse him. But she’s a very liberal person. She seems to always endorse a Democrat. And she’ll probably pay a price for it in the marketplace. But no, I like Brittany. I think Brittany is great. Brittany got a lot of news last week. She’s a big MAGA fan. That’s the one I like much better than Taylor Swift.”
Just one week ago, Brittany Mahomes, the wife of the Kansas City Chiefs star quarterback Patrick Mahomes, liked an Instagram post from President Trump. The post was a photo of the list of Trump’s 20 promises to the American people, which is part of the official 2024 GOP platform.
Mahomes received a lot of support for her “like” on Trump’s post, but some were unhappy about the seeming endorsement of the platform.
Days after she tapped the heart button, Mahomes posted an Instagram story that appeared to be a response to the backlash she received. “I mean honestly, To be a hater as an adult, you have to have some deep rooted issues you refuse to heal from childhood. There’s no reason your brain is fully developed and you hate to see others doing well,” Mahomes wrote.
Swift endorsed Biden in 2020, but her snap endorsement left many thinking it was a planned release to boost Harris’s post-debate feedback.
The National Pulse’s Raheem Kassam wrote on X, “If they thought she did well they wouldn’t have rushed the Taylor Swift endorsement out immediately tonight.”
Swift claimed that she had “done her research” and that said that she was “heartened and impressed” by Harris’ choice of Minnesota Democratic Governor Tim Walz because he has defended “LBGTQ+ rights, IVF, and a woman’s right to her own body for decades.”
If Swift had researched outside of the mainstream media, she would know that Trump has strongly championed IVF (in vitro fertilization). The detail also indicates a likely coordination between Swift and the Harris campaign, as Harris falsely claimed on Tuesday night that Trump wanted to end access to IVF.
