President Trump on Thursday provided insight into what he would have done differently from Biden to ensure that all U.S. civilians and troops were safely evacuated and so that no advanced military equipment would fall into the hands of the Taliban.
“First you bring out all of the American citizens. Then you bring out ALL equipment. Then you bomb the bases into smithereens—AND THEN YOU BRING OUT THE MILITARY,” Trump said in a statement from his Save America PAC on Thursday.
Joe Biden has been under intense scrutiny for his hasty withdrawal of U.S. troops from Afghanistan which led to the Taliban’s takeover of the country, endangering the lives of more than 10,000 Americans who are now trying to escape the country.
Since the militant group seized control of most of the country, including various airports in the region, it now has access to billions of dollars in U.S. military weaponry. According to Reuters, the Taliban now has access to thousands of humvees and at least 40 pieces of aircraft and drones.
Trump ended his statement by slamming Biden and “woke Generals” for their poorly planned troop withdrawal.
“You don’t do it in reverse order like Biden and our woke Generals did,” said Trump. “No chaos, no death—they wouldn’t even know we left!”
Despite Biden’s insistence that the withdrawal was not a “failure” in an interview with ABC News’s George Stephanopoulos Wednesday night, Republicans are calling on Biden to step down.
Agreeing with his father, Donald Trump Jr. said “This has to be the worst first year of a Presidency in American history and it’s only August,” he continued, “#BidenMustResign.”
As Biden continues to provide more confusion than clear answers to the American public on the well-being of those stuck in Afghanistan, calls for his resignation can be expected to grow.
