President Donald Trump revealed record-breaking viewership of his inauguration last week, including an all-time news viewership record on YouTube.
Trump shared the details in a post to his Truth Social over the weekend.
“Data from Streams Charts shows that due to coverage of President Trump’s Inauguration, the News section of YouTube set a new “All Time Viewership Record” with 9.6 million viewers,” Trump wrote.
“Additionally, the Inaugural Ceremony stream on President Donald J. Trump’s X account received a stunning 36.7 million views,” he continued.
The totals, combined with television viewership, far surpassed viewership numbers of President Ronald Reagan’s inauguration in 1981.
“In combination with TV viewership, an estimated 80.7 million viewers watched the President’s Inauguration, which beats the previous record of 42 million viewers with Ronald Reagan’s Inauguration in 1981,” Trump’s post noted.
RSBN previously noted that its own inauguration broadcast surpassed 6 million viewers across its platforms. The largest viewership for the inauguration broadcast was on X, which received 2.7 million views.
YouTube was the second largest platform with over 1.6 million views, followed by Rumble with over 1.3 million views. The remaining views were spread across RSBN’s mobile app and website, Facebook and Gettr.
RSBN received more than 6.5 million total views, further emphasizing the network’s ability to connect with the American people during pivotal moments in history.
One memorable moment from the inauguration ceremony was country singer Carrie Underwood, who put American vocals first when the background music for her rendition of “America the Beautiful” failed during President Donald Trump’s second Inauguration ceremony.
She stood ready to sing, and the music began to play but then quickly cut out. When it was apparent that the technical difficulties would not be resolved, she smiled and asked the crowd to help her out.
Another memorable moment during the inaugural parade included the Butler, Pennsylvania, First Responders. The group carried fallen former firefighter Corey Comperatore’s uniform to pay homage to his memory.
Comperatore was shot and killed on July 13, 2024, during the assassination attempt against the president’s life in Butler, Pennsylvania at a MAGA rally. On Monday, the audience in the Capital One Arena also observed a moment of silence for the fallen firefighter to honor his service and his life.
