President Donald Trump signed an executive order on Monday revoking the security clearances of 51 intelligence officials who agreed to discredit a report about Hunter Biden’s laptop.
The officials claimed that the accusations about the first son’s laptop were Russian misinformation ahead of the 2020 presidential election.
“Federal policymakers must be able to rely on analysis conducted by the Intelligence Community and be confident that it is accurate, crafted with professionalism, and free from politically motivated engineering to affect political outcomes in the United States,” the order states.
The list includes former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper Jr., former CIA Directors Michael Hayden and John Brennan, former Secretary of Defense Leon Panetta and former National Security Advisor John Bolton.
The order was among over 200 executive order Trump signed on his first day in the White House on Monday. Other orders included declaring a national emergency at the border and withdrawing the U.S. from the Paris Climate Agreement.
RSBN previously reported that the commander-in-chief signed an executive order called the Reevaluating and Realigning United States Foreign Aid.
This executive order specifically puts the American people first by halting the previous administration’s endless foreign aid to countries, including Ukraine. The Associated Press reported the Biden administration dispersed over $68 billion to over 204 countries and regions in 2023.
The order against the former Biden officials also came after now-former President Joe Biden preemptively pardoned five of his family members who the House Oversight Committee was investigating on suspicion of influence peddling.
According to Axios, the pardons were issued just minutes before Biden left the White House on Trump’s Inauguration Day. Both of Joe Biden’s brothers, James and Francis, as well as his sister Valerie Biden, were pardoned along with Valerie’s husband John Owens, and Sarah Jones Biden, James’ wife.
Last month, Biden’s use of Presidential powers was questioned when he issued a blanket pardon for his son, Hunter Biden, per the New York Post. This pardoned him for any crimes he may have committed over 10 years.
