President Donald Trump called former White House aide Cassidy Hutchison a “social climber” who is “living in fantasy land” after telling outlandish stories about the president to the Jan. 6 committee.

“The woman is living in fantasyland. She’s a social climber if you call that social,” the president said during an interview Thursday. “I think its just a shame that this is happening to our country.”

Trump further commented on another accusation, denying that he wanted guns at the rally. He claimed that Hutchinson wanted to work for the president in Florida after Jan. 6 because she was “a big Trump fan.”

Trump’s comments come after Hutchinson made headlines for conjuring a wild story about the 45th president in testimony before the Democrat-led Jan. 6 panel, as previously reported.

According to the Jan. 6 committee’s star witness, President Trump lunged for the steering wheel in the president’s SUV to drive to the Capitol Building on Jan. 6, 2021. However, the story was almost immediately discredited by reports that the lead agent of the Secret Service on Trump’s detail that day, Bobby Engel, would testify and contradict Hutchinson’s story.

Following reports discrediting Hutchinson’s story, Trump on Tuesday took to Truth Social, writing, “The Secret Service said, according to the Media, it wasn’t true. Wow! She has now lost all credibility, just like the partisan Witch Hunt perpetuated by the Unselect Committee of political hacks. MAGA!”

In a follow-up post on Wednesday, Trump continued to call out “fake storyteller” Hutchinson saying:

“Now that fake storyteller Cassidy Hutchinson has been totally discredited and marginalized for making up the most ridiculous story that I tried to commandeer control of a moving White House Limo, even went for a choke hold on the other very strong Secret Service Agent sitting in the front seat, in addition to her other lies, the Unselect Committee is asking to interview the former White House counsel for dirt, even though that would set a terrible precedent for future Presidents. NO!”
