Trump rips New York AG’s ‘depraved’ lawsuit

President Donald J. Trump ripped New York Attorney General Letitia James’ lawsuit against him Saturday, calling the move an example of “gross prosecutorial misconduct.”

“There’s no better example of the left’s targeting political opponents than the baseless and depraved lawsuit against me, my family, my company by the racist attorney general of New York state, Letitia ‘Peekaboo’ James,” Trump told the crowd at a Save America rally in Wilmington, North Carolina.

On Wednesday, RSBN reported that James filed a civil lawsuit against Trump and several of his businesses, associates, and family members, alleging that they had engaged in “numerous acts of fraud and misrepresentation.”

However, during his Saturday speech, Trump called the attorney general a “raging maniac,” noting how the Democrat had campaigned on the promise of prosecuting him.

“She knew nothing about me,” he noted. “Before she had even begun her phony investigation, she went around boasting her plan to weaponize her office against me – probably working with the federal government, of course.”

Trump continued, “In a fair country, instead of investigating me, the Biden Justice Department would be investigating Letitia James for her appalling and malicious abuse of power.”

The president added that under James, New York had become a “cesspool of violent crime,” and suggested that the “crazy radical leftist nutjob” should instead focus her energy on prosecuting criminals.

Also noting that James is up for reelection in November, Trump said: “Thankfully, the latest polls show that ‘Peekaboo’ James is losing to her Republican challenger this fall. … But she doesn’t just deserve to lose, she deserves to be removed from office, immediately disbarred, and banished from the legal profession forever.”
