President Donald Trump brought the crowd to their feet on Friday night in Wilmington, North Carolina, during one of his trademark Save America rallies, teasing a third presidential bid.
“I ran twice, I won twice, and I did much better the second time than I did the first, getting many millions more votes,” he said, talking about the 2016 and 2020 presidential elections.
The crowd broke out into chants of “USA!”
Trump pointed out that he got “12 million more votes” in 2020 than he did in 2016, adding, “We got more votes than any sitting president in the history of our country by far – far more than Obama, far more than anybody.”
He added that he was leading in the polls by a lot against Biden and some potential Republican candidates.
“And we may just have to do it [run for president] again!” he said.
The crowd exploded with applause a second time, again breaking out into chants of “USA!”
Trump urged the crowd to participate in the November midterm elections and asked them to “SWAMP” the Democrats with votes. “They’re dirty, rotten cheaters,” he said. “The best way to stop them from cheating is to SWAMP THEM.”
