President Donald Trump stated on Monday that he was expecting another indictment to come down “any day now” from federal special prosecutor Jack Smith in relation to a probe linked to the events of Jan. 6, 2021.
Trump wrote on Truth Social, “I assume that an Indictment from Deranged Jack Smith and his highly partisan gang of Thugs, pertaining to my ‘PEACEFULLY & PATRIOTICALLY Speech, will be coming out any day now, as yet another attempt to cover up all of the bad news about bribes, payoffs, and extortion, coming from the Biden ‘camp.’”
He added, “This seems to be the way they do it. ELECTION INTERFERENCE! PROSECUTORIAL MISCONDUCT!”
Trump has faced two indictments earlier this year and will likely face two more. He alluded to the coming federal indictment from Jack Smith in mid-July, announcing that he had received a letter from the DOJ that signaled the likely possibility of another indictment and arrest.
Trump already is facing 34 felony charges in Manhattan related to business dealings, and he is additionally facing 37 federal charges in Miami in a probe looking into his handling of so-called “classified” documents.
While Trump is anticipating another indictment from Jack Smith, a fourth potential indictment is brewing in Fulton County, Georgia, where District Attorney Fani Willis is reportedly preparing to bring racketeering charges against the 45th president.
According to The Hill, Trump’s legal team recently asked that the Georgia probe be prevented from moving forward due to their argument that a trial rife with wild allegations would “open the doors of the courthouse to their claims are either insufficient or else speculative and unrealized.”
Unfortunately, a Georgia judge ruled against Trump, and the investigation is proceeding.
The president added on Truth Social, “The Radical Left Democrat Thugs shouldn’t be allowed to investigate me during, and in the middle of, my campaign for President. Why didn’t they file these ridiculous charges 2.5 years ago? They waited because they wanted to illegally and negatively influence the 2024 Presidential Election, arguably the most important Election in the history of the USA.”
