President Donald Trump announced Tuesday that Israel has agreed to the terms of a proposed 60-day ceasefire in Gaza, urging Hamas to accept the deal or face worsening conditions.

Trump, who is set to meet with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at the White House on Monday, said the agreement was reached during discussions between U.S. representatives and Israeli officials.

“My Representatives had a long and productive meeting with the Israelis today on Gaza. Israel has agreed to the necessary conditions to finalize the 60 Day CEASEFIRE, during which time we will work with all parties to end the War,” Trump wrote.

“The Qataris and Egyptians, who have worked very hard to help bring Peace, will deliver this final proposal. I hope, for the good of the Middle East, that Hamas takes this Deal, because it will not get better — IT WILL ONLY GET WORSE. Thank you for your attention to this matter!” he added.

The ceasefire push comes as the Trump administration intensifies efforts to secure a truce and hostage release, aiming to bring the months-long conflict in Gaza to an end.

Israeli Minister for Strategic Affairs Ron Dermer was in Washington on Tuesday for talks with senior U.S. officials, including Vice President JD Vance, Secretary of State Marco Rubio and special envoy Steve Witkoff. The discussions focused on the potential Gaza truce, regional tensions with Iran, and broader Middle East security concerns.

The news follows Trump’s recent deal to broker a ceasefire between Israel and Iran. Rep. Buddy Carter, R-Ga., nominated President Donald Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize for the accomplishment.

In a letter to the Nobel Peace Prize Committee, Carter praised Trump’s “extraordinary and historic role” in ending what has been dubbed the “12 Day War” and preventing Iran, described as “the world’s largest state sponsor of terrorism,” from acquiring nuclear weapons.

“President Trump’s influence was instrumental in forging a swift agreement that many believed to be impossible,” Carter wrote, adding that Trump’s actions exemplify “the pursuit of peace, the prevention of war, and the advancement of international harmony.”
