President Donald Trump on Monday expressed his support for two Florida GOP candidates ahead of the state’s special elections.
The Sunshine State’s special elections are on April 1 with early voting from March 22-29.
“America First Patriot Randy Fine is running to represent the Great People of Florida’s 6th Congressional District! A highly successful, Harvard educated businessman, and greatly respected State Legislator, Randy has been a tremendous Voice for MAGA,” Trump said in support of the Sixth District candidate in a Truth Social post.
“In Congress, Randy will be an incredible fighter, who will work tirelessly with me to Stop Inflation, Grow our Economy, Secure the Border, Champion our Military/Vets, Restore American Energy DOMINANCE, Protect our always under siege Second Amendment, and Ensure PEACE THROUGH STRENGTH,” he added. “Randy Fine has my Complete and Total Endorsement for Congress. Florida, Early Voting is March 22-29, and Election Day is April 1st – GET OUT AND VOTE EARLY FOR RANDY!”
Fine faces Democrat Josh Weil in the special election to fill the seat of former Republican Rep. Michael Waltz. Waltz resigned to become the Trump administration’s National Security Adviser.
In a second post, the president also endorsed Jimmy Patronis in Florida’s First District congressional battle.
“Jimmy Patronis, Chief Financial Officer and Fire Marshall for the Great State of Florida, is running an incredible Campaign for Congress in Florida’s 1st Congressional District! A fourth generation Floridian from the beautiful Panhandle, and owner of an iconic seafood restaurant, Jimmy has been a wonderful friend to me, and to MAGA,” Trump wrote.
“As your next Congressman, Jimmy will work tirelessly alongside of me to Grow our Economy, Secure our Border, Stop Migrant Crime, Strengthen our Brave Military/Vets, Restore American Energy DOMINANCE, and Defend our always under siege Second Amendment,” he continued. “Jimmy Patronis has my Complete and Total Endorsement for Congress.”
Patronis faces Democrat Gay Alimont in the battle to fill the seat of former Republican Rep. Matt Gaetz. Gaetz resigned during his nomination for U.S. Attorney General, later stepping down and now hosting a show on One America News Network.
