President Trump slammed former President Biden over his failure to prevent Russia from invading Ukraine.

“The War between Russia and Ukraine is Biden’s war, not mine. I just got here, and for four years during my term, had no problem in preventing it from happening,” Trump wrote on Truth Social.

“President Putin, and everyone else, respected your President!” Trump continued.

He then emphasized his point and laid out his intentions in all-caps. “I HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH THIS WAR, BUT AM WORKING DILIGENTLY TO GET THE DEATH AND DESTRUCTION TO STOP.”

Trump made clear why Russia felt emboldened to attack. “If the 2020 Presidential Election was not RIGGED, and it was, in so many ways, that horrible War would never have happened,” he wrote.

He pointed directly to Biden and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy for their roles in the travesty. “President Zelenskyy and Crooked Joe Biden did an absolutely horrible job in allowing this travesty to begin. There were so many ways of preventing it from ever starting.”

He concluded with a digression but ended on a positive note. “But that is in the past. Now we have to get it to STOP, AND FAST. SO SAD!”

On Palm Sunday, Russia launched a missile attack in Sumy, Ukraine, killing 34 people, including two children, according to the Associated Press. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov claimed that Russia was targeting senior Ukrainian military officials who intentionally held a meeting in the city’s center to use civilians as shields.

President Trump reiterated his plans to stop the war when asked about the attack.

“I think it was terrible and I was told they made a mistake, but I think it’s a horrible thing. I think the whole war is a horrible thing,” Trump remarked.

European leaders also condemned the attack, and Germany’s chancellor-designate, Friedrich Merz, reiterated his calls to send Taurus long-range cruise missiles to Ukraine.

The Kremlin responded by accusing European leaders of wanting to prolong the war. “Regrettably, European capitals aren’t inclined to search for ways to launch peace talks and are inclined instead to keep provoking the continuation of the war,” Peskov said in a statement.

During a recent interview, Zelenskyy said it was “an understandable situation today” that his military did not “have enough strength to de-occupy everything” Russia had captured. He made clear that the war would “end diplomatically,” but said Ukraine would not recognize temporarily occupied territories as Russian.
