During President Trump’s Independence Day rally in Pickens, South Carolina, he addressed the erasure of historical figures and monuments.
He said, “They want to delete our legends.”
President Trump defended the city’s namesake, stating, “We’re not letting them delete General Pickens.”
He noted that other historical figures other than “The great Andrew Pickens” have come under attack posthumously. He said, “They’ve taken the name of George Washington off of over 100 schools.”
The first president and many others have had their legacies tarnished by cancel culture, per Fox News.
President Trump noted that he opposes these attacks on our history and decried the fact that “Our children are being taught to hate our great heroes.”
