President Trump took a few shots on Sunday at Robert F. Kennedy Jr., who is running for president on the Independent ticket in 2024.
On Truth Social, Trump stated that he had watched Kennedy’s recent conversation with Bill Maher, whom the president described as “ratings challenged.”
Trump explained, “I actually watched, first time in a long time, ratings challenged Bill Maher’s really boring interview with RFK Jr. last night, only to find that Junior’ is far more LIBERAL than Maher and, in fact, far more LIBERAL than anyone running as a Democrat, including West and Stein.”
Kennedy’s conversation with Maher touched on the topic of vaccines at one point – an issue that Kennedy has garnered plenty of attention for in the wake of the Covid pandemic. He has famously been labeled as an “anti-vaxxer” by some in the media. Kennedy told Maher, however, “I believe if people want a vaccine, that they should be able to get them. I’m not anti-vaccine.”
Trump pointed out that Democrats were using their “typically Fascist tactics of repression” to attempt to “throw him [Kennedy] out of the Party, like a dog, because he was taking primary votes away from the worst President in the history of our Country, Crooked Joe Biden.”
Kennedy was formerly running as a Democrat. He switched his affiliation in 2023 to Democrat in the face of party opposition to his presidential bid.
Trump added, “So now, Juniors’ a so-called Independent, but he’s not, he’s a Radical Left Lunatic, but trying to have it all ways. He said that ‘No Vaccine is safe and effective,’ and then said ‘I would never say that, I’m not anti-vaccine!’ Where did that come from?”
The topic of vaccines, particularly the Covid vaccine, is a contentious one in 2024, in the aftermath of Joe Biden’s egregious push for federal mandates that forced many Americans to choose between receiving the shot or losing their jobs.
President Trump continued, “Maher defended the vaccine, which Junior’ actually seemed to agree with (WOW!), and then told him that his poll numbers have crashed. No Republican can vote for this guy. MAGA2024!”
In mid-April, Kennedy’s famous family opted to endorse Joe Biden over their own kin, drawing severe criticism from Republicans and Democrats alike. Trump also weighed in on this phenomenon on Truth Social over the weekend, writing, “Why did Junior’s family go so bonkers at the thought of him running against Crooked Joe Biden? Because they are Radical Left Lunatics, and they can’t conceive of their even more Liberal brother running as anything else????”
He added, “MAGA2024[.] Don’t waste your Vote on Kennedy!”
