President Donald Trump sat down with famed television personality and mental health professional Dr. Phil McGraw this week, offering insight into his current life, his campaign, and his unrelenting ability to keep fighting.
Recorded in a room gilded with gold and framed with American flags, Dr. Phil’s conversation with the 45th president was recorded in the president’s sprawling Palm Beach estate in Florida, Mar-a-Lago. The interview clocked in at over one hour long.
The two men discussed many topics, including the U.S. economy, the very real threat of World War Three, political correctness, the president’s family, and whether he would pursue an agenda of retribution against his political enemies upon a successful White House victory.
“I found it to be very interesting that you would take this up,” Trump remarked at the beginning of the interview, noting his “great respect” for Dr. Phil and noting that he even watched his show.
Dr. Phil asked the president how he deals with prosecutorial abuse and the ongoing, never-ending lawfare that he has faced since leaving office.
“It’s a never-ending thing,” Trump remarked, shrugging. “There’s a term I know you’ve heard, Trump Derangement Syndrome…in one way, we drive them totally crazy because we’re doing the right thing.”
Dr. Phil later pointed out that Trump has “taken every shot you could imagine – you’ve been criticized, attacked, called every name in the book, they’ve turned the judicial system, the intelligence community… the media has turned against you, print, TV internet industries.”
He added, “How do you deal with that stress in your most private moments?”
President Trump answered that it came down to two things. The first, he said, was that he just doesn’t like thinking about the negativity.
He explained, “Out of sight out of mind…number two, I have tremendous support. I have the people’s support. I think if I didn’t I wouldn’t be able to handle it so easily.”
Upon a prospective 2025 administration, would the president exact an agenda of retribution upon his enemies and the enemies of freedom? Trump responded to this question with candor.
“Revenge does take time, I will say that, and sometimes revenge can be justified, I have to be honest, Phil,” Trump replied.
On the subject of his family, President Trump shared that First Lady Melania Trump was doing “good” but “I don’t think it’s an easy thing for her.”
He added, “I think if it wasn’t good she wouldn’t want to tell me about it, to be honest with you, because, you know, she sees that I’m fighting like hell, I’m trying to become president and make America great again.”
The president reiterated his vow that he could bring peace to the global stage quickly and efficiently in the Oval Office. He even stated that he could get the war in Ukraine over as president-elect.
Trump also touched on Biden’s mental deficiencies and insinuated that “he’s surrounded by a lot of fascists and communists – and they’re young and they’re smart and that’s who’s running our country.”
He warned that “we’ve never been so close to World War Three” and pointed out that other countries currently have no respect for the United States because Biden is “weak and incompetent.”
