Trump talks TOUGH to rivals: ‘Sometimes you have to put them in their place’

On Thursday, President Donald Trump offered Americans a bit of insight related to his campaign style, which has been famously tough and uncensored.

He explained in a new video posted to Truth Social, “Many say ‘don’t punch down’ when talking about people like Chris Sununu, or sloppy Chris Christie, or Ada Hutchinson – I call him Ada, not Asa, because of certain reasons – or others, but sometimes it’s necessary to talk bad about others that for no reason other than politics speak badly about you.”

He added, “Otherwise, the people that love you don’t know if they’re for real. Are they saying the truth? They’re not. Sometimes you have to punch down and sometimes you have to say what’s happening otherwise they won’t understand – it’s not fair to them. You have to put them in proper perspective, these bad people. You have to put them in their place. People like this are very destructive, and you have to tell the voters what it’s all about, otherwise, why should they be able to understand it?”

The president’s comments were perhaps an extension of remarks that he made earlier this week during an interview with Bret Baier on Fox News. He told the host, “I would like to be less combative, but I find the press is extremely dishonest, and if I’m not combative, I don’t get my word across. If I’m not combative – I don’t think you could win.”

He explained in that interview that he believed someone with a weaker approach would be targeted by the “radical left maniacs” and they wouldn’t “be able to withstand that.”

Despite ongoing legal investigations and political attacks on the 45th president, Trump is still handily dominating in both GOP primary polls and most general election polls, RSBN reported.

For example, in a recent Emerson College poll, Trump is leading GOP presidential candidate Gov. Ron DeSantis, R-Fla., by 38 points.
