President Donald Trump revealed that his first trip after returning to the White House will include stops in North Carolina, California and Nevada.

Trump shared the news during a response to reporters at his press conference on Tuesday.

The president is set to return to the Tar Heel State on Friday, saying it “has been abandoned by the Democrats,” following flooding from Hurricane Helene in September.

Trump won the state in the 2024 presidential election where Democratic Gov. Roy Cooper served. Democrat Josh Stein won the 2024 election for governor in the state.

Stein later confirmed Trump’s plans on Tuesday during his own press briefing.

“We just learned that the President is coming to North Carolina. I think that’s very good news for the people of Western North Carolina, that this issue is front of mind of the new administration,” Stein told reporters. “I don’t know what my schedule is on Friday but hope to be able to see him.”

The president also noted plans to visit Los Angeles in response to massive wildfires that have devastated the area this month. Trump referred to recovery efforts but did not mention specific amounts or plans in his brief remarks.

Trump also shared that he will visit Nevada after his stop in California in order to thank the state’s voters for their recent support. The 2024 election flipped the state to Trump after former President Joe Biden won the state in 2020.

Trump also mentioned North Carolina and Los Angeles during his inaugural address on Monday.

“Our country can no longer deliver basic services in times of emergency, as recently shown by the wonderful people of North Carolina being treated so badly and other states who are still suffering from a hurricane that took place many months ago or more recently, Los Angeles, where we are watching fires still tragically burn from weeks ago without even a token of defense,” Trump stated.
