President Trump is celebrating a new direction for the Kennedy Center under his leadership. Prior to a speech to GOP lawmakers at the Kennedy Center on Tuesday, Trump touted his role in the institution’s renewal in a post on Truth Social.

“Soon leaving the White House to speak to House Republicans, who I truly love (almost all!), at the TRUMP KENNEDY CENTER, where I have raised hundreds of millions of dollars to make it the best Performing Arts Center anywhere in the World,” President Trump said.

The president noted that new investments had changed the trajectory of the Kennedy Center and shared his vision for how the renewal of the Kennedy Center can be linked to an innovative new direction for the nation as a whole.

“A year ago it was in a state of financial and physical collapse,” President Trump said. “Wait until you see it a year from now!!! Like our Country, itself, it will rise from the ashes. MAGA!!!”

The Kennedy Center building was officially renamed the Trump-Kennedy Center in December 2025, recognizing President Trump’s efforts to revive both the institution’s decades-old infrastructure and its finances. The name change was unanimously approved by the Kennedy Center’s board as an acknowledgement of the progress made under the Trump administration.

Roma Daravi, Vice President of Public Relations for the Kennedy Center, credited President Trump with saving the Kennedy Center from “financial ruin and physical destruction.”

Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt described the name change as a reflection of President Trump’s successful improvements and noted that it would allow the Kennedy Center to “attain new levels of success and grandeur.”
