President Trump urged Michiganders on Wednesday to cast their ballots for Rep. Mike Rogers to replace retiring Democratic Senator Debbie Stabenow in the United States Senate.
Trump told the crowd, “Mike will be facing off against a far-left liberal lunatic named Slotkin. She’s terrible.” He noted that she was “not respected in Washington,” and that she “gives everything away to the opponent, very big for China.” He continued, stating, “She fully supports banning gas-powered cars and trucks.”
He emphasized the importance of the race, stating, “Somebody that’s against gasoline-powered cars, you can’t have ‘em in this state.” He pointedly remarked, “It’s only gonna be the hybrids and the gasoline-powered cars that are gonna turn around your state, so you have no choice but to vote against her.”
He continued his critique of Rogers’ opponent, stating, “Slotkin is also an open borders extremist who has repeatedly voted for mass amnesty.” He laughed and turned toward Rogers, remarking, “I think you’re gonna win this thing big.”
After giving a recap of Slotkin’s radical record, he powerfully stated, “That’s why you must vote for Mike Rogers, highly respected no matter where he goes.” Trump then called him up to the stage to say a few words.
As Rogers exited the stage, the 45th president said, “He’s gonna win. It was an honor to endorse him, and I’ll tell ya he’s respected all over, he’s respected by everybody, you have a rare choice there.”
