President Trump finished his weekend strong after speaking at the Family Research Council’s “Pray, Vote, Stand Summit” in Washington, D.C., emerging victorious in their anticipated presidential straw poll.
According to an official statement from FRC Action, Trump won 63.9 percent of respondents’ vote for president in 2024, establishing a 36-point lead over Gov. Ron DeSantis, R-Fla., who came in second with 27.3 percent of support.
Finishing third was former Vice President Mike Pence with 2.2 percent. Both Sen. Tim Scott, R-S.C., and businessman Vivek Ramaswamy claimed just over one percent of support.
FRC Action Chairman Tony Perkins stated of the results, “SAGE Cons (Spiritually Active, Governance Engaged Conservatives) want a proven leader who not only understands the threats to our freedoms but is committed to fighting back against the leftist mob that has weaponized the government against the American people.”
FRC’s straw poll is hardly the only place where Trump is dominating the race for the White House. Per RSBN, Trump took his biggest lead yet in the 2024 Republican primary polls when he scored a staggering 46-point lead over Gov. DeSantis in a mainstream CBS poll.
In their most recent general election poll, YouGov found that Trump was beating Joe Biden at the national level, garnering 50 percent of the national vote against Biden’s 49 percent. Among Independent voters, Trump led by a whopping 15 points.
Another poll from Harvard/Harris found that Trump had a four-point lead nationwide over Biden in a 2024 general election. In the GOP race for the nomination, the 45th president led by 47 points over runner-up DeSantis, who scored 10 percent of support. Coming in a close third was Ramaswamy, with eight percent of support among Republican primary voters.
