Throughout President Trump’s campaign, not only did he have to contend with a weaponized Department of Justice but also biased media, and now his campaign has launched a large-scale offensive against media bias.
This media bias offensive could not have come at a better time since trust in the establishment media is at an all-time low. Back in October 2024, Breitbart shared a poll from Gallup that revealed that a shockingly low 31 percent of Americans had confidence in the media to tell the truth, and President Trump has had enough.
During his campaign in 2024, Breitbart reported that President Trump was fed up with this, saying, “I absolutely HATE the Fake News Media,” and added that it was “So bad for our Country!”
To remedy this, President Trump has launched at least seven offensives. According to Breitbart, these offensives include a probe from the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) into news outlets PBS and NPR to uncover if they had violated any governmental rules about recognizing financial sponsors while on air. The FCC would also investigate the NBC’s diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) practices as well as CBS to check whether the news outlet had violated rules by editing former Vice President Kamala Harris’s 60 Minutes interview.
In a big move, Axios had reported that President Trump’s Defense Department would remove NBC News, NPR, The New York Times, and Politico from the Correspondents’ Corridor in the Pentagon under the new Annual Media Rotation Program for Pentagon Press Corps.
As part of the offensive, President Trump has also banned the Associated Press from events at the Oval Office and Air Force One over their refusal to drop speech codes and refusing to use the Gulf of America as the correct term.
During a press briefing in Mar-a-Lago shared by The Daily Signal on X, a reporter had asked President Trump what it would take for him to reconsider the restriction, and Trump told him, “The Associated Press refuses to go with what the law is,” and added that the Associated Press has been “very, very wrong on the election on Trump and the treatment of Trump and other things having to do with Trump and Republicans and conservatives.” So, he’s not going to do them any favors. President Trump’s remarks make it clear: he has no time for bias and untrue media.
