President Trump made social media history several times this week, starting on Wednesday night when his anticipated interview with Tucker Carlson on X (formerly Twitter) went viral, garnering tens of millions of views in just minutes.
In fact, between Wednesday and Friday morning, the interview had already earned 254 million views and counting.
Trump made history again on Thursday evening when he was processed at the Fulton County jail in Georgia, which resulted in the public release of his mugshot. No former president has ever had their mugshot taken.
The president immediately used the opportunity to post his own mugshot to X with the caption, “ELECTION INTERFERENCE[.] NEVER SURRENDER! DONALDJTRUMP.COM[.]”

Trump’s post on X marked the first time that the 45th president had returned to the platform since he was banned in 2021 when Jack Dorsey was at the helm of the company.
As the social media platform is under the leadership of SpaceX and Tesla CEO Elon Musk, Trump’s account has been reinstated.
Between Thursday night and Friday morning, President Trump’s first post back on X had already racked up a whopping 142 million views and gaining.
Trump’s mugshot will no doubt go down in history as one of the most famous pictures of all time.
According to the NYT, Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis has asked for an arraignment date in September. An additional 18 people have also been charged in the case.
Shortly after being processed at the Fulton County jail, President Trump gave brief comments to the press waiting at the airport, right beside Trump Force One.
“What has taken place here is a travesty of justice…I did nothing wrong,” he told reporters.
Despite Trump’s return to X, he remarked on his own social media platform late Thursday evening, “I LOVE TRUTH SOCIAL. IT IS MY HOME!”
