President Trump has maintained his commitment to making the economic burden easier for American workers, and this weekend, he announced his intention to continue that trend by pledging to axe taxes that service workers receive on tips.
During a swelteringly hot rally in Las Vegas, Nevada, on Sunday, Trump told a crowd of thousands of MAGA supporters that he intended to fight for tax-free tips for service workers.
“When I get into office we are going to not charge taxes on tips – people making tips,” he said.
The president continued, “We’re not going to do it…because it’s been a point of contention for years and years and years and you do a great job of service, you take care of people, and I think it’s going to be something that really is deserved.”
Following his announcement on Sunday, Trump took to his free speech platform, Truth Social, to expand on his newest policy pitch, explaining that his stance on the issue was quite different from Joe Biden’s.
He wrote, “I am the only Candidate who has ever called for delivering relief to our wonderful Service Workers by NOT TAXING THEIR TIPS.”
Trump added, “It was my idea that Tips should not be taxed, and only I will GET IT DONE – And do it IMMEDIATELY upon my return to the White House. Crooked Joe Biden has taken the totally opposite approach, trying to TAX more and more of their Tips, even hiring 88,000 IRS Agents to collect!”
The president argued that Biden had “increased the Reporting Requirements for Workers” in 2023 and “would go still further if I wasn’t here to watch.”
He pointed out that Biden had failed to deliver on even the most basic promises, including student loan forgiveness. “With Biden, it’s ALL TALK, AND NO ACTION,” he remarked.
Lastly, Trump called on union members and union leadership to recognize the contrast between himself and Joe Biden, “because I’m NO TALK AND ALL ACTION! TRUMP KEEPS HIS PROMISES, AND STANDS WITH OUR GREAT WORKERS. PROMISES MADE, PROMISES KEPT!”
