Truth Social has offered overwhelming support and encouragement to President Donald Trump over the past few days after the 45th president faced arrest in Fulton County, Georgia, and the subsequent public release of his mugshot.
The free speech social media platform, which was kickstarted by Trump himself in early 2022, has become a popular alternative to Big Tech platforms like Facebook, X, and Instagram.
Over the weekend, President Trump utilized his Truth Social account to share memes and words of support for his 2024 campaign to reclaim the White House from users who often reply to the president’s posts online.
On Monday, Trump posted a comment on the platform highlighting his preference for using the site.
He stated, “I BELIEVE THAT TRUTH SOCIAL IS THE GREATEST & ‘HOTTEST’ FORM, SYSTEM, & PLATFORM OF COMMUNICATION IN AMERICA, & INDEED THE WORLD, TODAY. THAT’S WHY I USE IT — THERE IS NOTHING THAT COMES EVEN CLOSE!!!”
The president’s comment comes just a few days after he posted a photo of his Fulton County mugshot on X, marking the first time he had returned to the platform formerly known as Twitter since he was banned from the site in 2021.
In 2022, current X owner Elon Musk lifted the ban.
However, Trump has concentrated his social media use on Truth Social, noting last Thursday, “I LOVE TRUTH SOCIAL. IT IS MY HOME!”
He also recently shared several posts from users who have posted images with messages like “Everything is better when the TRUMPS are in the White House” and “The more they indict[,] the more we unite!!”
The president’s four indictments this year have spurred an outpouring of support among Americans nationwide. The Trump campaign has reportedly raked in a massive $7.1 million fundraising haul since the president’s mugshot was released from Fulton County last Thursday night.
